Hello,

My sister made Bombe Alaska on Saturday night - it was a wonderful success. It was quite a large thing for just five people, so we got one fifth of the cake each (obviously).

However, the interesting thing about the night was that mum made (attempted) some merignues with the left over egg white. She unfortunately left them in the oven too long, where I found them. The picture says everything. They collapsed, and in the autopsy I discovered they died by gas inhallation, which was highly suspicious since the oven was an electric one. I called Sherlock Holmes in on the case; he is yet to return his findings.

My brother made one of those a few years ago. It too was a success, although the freezer was a bit too cold so the ice-cream was a bit hard. There are pictures here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v31/madstagirl/b0006.jpg
